We are looking for a warm friendly individual who likes to interact with customers to provide superior customer service. Applicant must have good team building and organizational skills to direct a perishable foods department with seasonal business. Previous management experience required and applicant must have an overall understanding of retail meat and seafood department operations.
The responsibilities of this position include overseeing the Meat and Seafood department’s overall operations, including staff supervision, ordering various products, ensuring food safety, overseeing and participating in product preparation, including meat cutting and seafood processing, dealing with various suppliers and vendors, and carrying out monthly inventory. The applicant must be knowledgeable in meat and seafood processing and handling in a retail setting, and be familiar with the impact waste, labor and productivity have on the profitability of the Meat and Seafood Department. Must be able to learn and memorize a considerable amount of information, work in an environment that can at times be very fast paced, be able to multi-task and keep on smiling.
Pay range is $23.00 to $28.00 per hour. Pay rate will be determined upon work experience and negotiated during employment interview.

Must have previous management experience and be able to effectively direct and supervise up to 12 employees.
Must have an overall knowledge of retail meat and seafood department operations, including meat cutting and seafood processing to be sold in a retail setting.
Must be outgoing, able to communicate, interact and work well with the public and coworkers and have exceptional customer service skills.
Must be able to effectively communicate, manage, train, motivate, reward, discipline, monitor and supervise employees within the Meat and Seafood Department.
Must be well organized and have experience in ordering perishable food products, product rotation and inventory control.
Must follow safe food handling and safe working procedures.
Must have open availability for working hours, including weekends and most holidays.
Must be able to effectively operate a computer in order to enter and obtain data essential to the operation of the Meat and Seafood Department.
Must be able to operate department equipment such as telephones, wrapping stations, scales, meat grinders, meat slicers and band saws.
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
Bending, reaching and grasping, including power grasping and fine manipulation, required.
Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
Must be able to reach above and at shoulder level.
Vision requirements for this position require close vision.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work.
Must obtain a County Food Worker Card upon hiring.

Job duties include preparing and packaging various food products, operating department equipment such as meat slicers, food wrapping station, oven, scales and knives. General cleaning maintenance duties required and most importantly applicant must have exceptional customer service skills.
Starting wage is $16.50 per hour with no experience. Pay range for this position is $16.50 to $20.50 per hour. Pay rate may be negotiated during employment interview for those applicants with more experience.
Shifts and work days vary from week to week. There are no set schedules however we strive to work around school, child-care and 2nd job schedules.
